Missing Utah

"For thos who have wandered through the serpentine canyons of the escalante, floated down the Green and Colorado Rivers, biked the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands, or hidden out for days along the Dirty Devil or stood below Morning Glory Arch in winter or thought they found God in the expanse of the Kaiparowits Plateau, this is not hard to understand:  falling in love with a place, being in love with a place, wanting to care for a place and see it remain intact as a wild piece of the planet...For those of you who have not experienced the sublime nature of Utah's canyon country, I invite you to imagine what it might be like to see and feel the world from the inside out.  If you do come visit, prepare to be broken open like a rock fallen from a once-secure place."

-Terry Tempest Williams

And now after being given the chance to live in Utah for the past couple of years I know this quote to be true.  At first I was an outsider in a foreign landscape and culture but I found myself while exploring this place--and I miss it!

Not only did I look forward to visiting you and Kirk and Graham, but was always amazed at the new beauty that unfolded every time I came to Utah, I will miss it. To anyone that get's the chance to visit this great State, jump on it and thank you for giving me the chance to see it!
